THANKS TO ALL THE AMAZING FILMMAKERSfrom around the world who have given us a chance to see glimpses of the human condition in all its glory. Even if you are not selected, we applaud your storytelling craft and thank you for your contribution to our culture!!!! Whether you are selected or not, we hope that very soon you will be calling out the simulating and important call to your crew: “ACTION!!!!”

Filmmakers, if you have a passion for storytelling in film, we would love to see your work and share it with audiences clamoring to see cutting edge storytelling! There is a $500 cash prize for the winning film of festival.

The festival jury includes at least three judges with substantial and recognizable credits in more than 5 Hollywood motion picture studio projects with international recognition.

In 2011, our films (with filmmaker permission) were shown on PBS television in a 14 episode half hour series called “World of Short Films”. We also have a robust marketing and press team that works hard to get news about the films into media, print, and social media.

Guidelines for film submission:

Running time: 30 minutes or less

Genres Accepted: Animation, Drama, Comedy, Romance, Documentary

Completion Date: Films must have been produced between 2008 – 2012

 

Fee Waivers Granted For: Any films who have won a main category award at another festival

Formats Accepted: HD digital only.  Files must be either MP4, Quicktime, H.264, XDCAM, HDV. Please keep files at the native frame-rate. We prefer 1920 x 1080 pixels, but we will also accept 720P and other HD formats that are in the above listed file formats.

Preview Screeners: We prefer digital screeners on  the withoutabox.com site. But we can also preview from a web link, DVD-ROM (not blu-ray), or a file on a hard drive (Mac/Apple formatted only)
