Projection / Exhibition Format Requirements
If you have been accepted as an official selection, we will need a file for projection.
- The best file would be:
- High Definition (HD)
- 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 pixels
- English subtitles (when necessary). Subtitles must be very clear and legible. We often have to reject films where the subtitle is white against white parts of the movie. If you have white subtitles, they must have a heavy black outline, drop shadow, or background.
- Quicktime H.264 or MP4 format
- The NATIVE FRAME RATE of the film
- STEREO AUDIO not 5.1
- No Blu-Ray
If you don’t have that format, you can send a really clean file at the best size you have and we will professionally convert it here. The film must be under 2GB for most file delivery services. The file can be bigger if you mail it into us on a mac compatible non-returnable hard drive, flash drive, or DVD-ROM. We are a mac based festival.
